Welcome to CDI Head Start

When a Head Start or Early Head Start program in a community can no longer operate, children and families should not lose access to essential services.

That’s why we’re here.

We are partners in Head Start communities experiencing transitions. Our role is to reduce disruptions for families and staff and help communities move forward. We bring national experience and build on local strength.

What is Interim Management?

When a Head Start or Early Head Start provider can no longer operate, the Office of Head Start (OHS) asks us to step in as the interim manager.

Interim management is temporary until a new grant recipient is selected. CDI Head Start cannot become the permanent grant recipient. Our focus:

  • Keep classrooms open whenever possible
  • Reduce disruption for children and families and staff
  • Protect community resources and federal investments
  • Maintain program quality and safety

Interim Head Start Services

We are assigned as interim manager by the Office of Head Start. Programs may be assigned to interim management when a Head Start agency relinquishes its funding, is under suspension, or has its grant terminated by OHS.
