Head Start supports the whole family, and we know every family’s needs are different. We want to connect you with trusted local resources for food, housing, health care, jobs, and other basic needs.

If you ever need help or have questions, please reach out to your Family Advocate or program staff—we’re here to help you reach your goals.

St. Louis Community Resources

  • Missouri Department of Social Services (myDSS) – Statewide Benefits Portal
    Apply for SNAP (Food Stamps), Temporary Assistance, Medicaid/MO HealthNet, Child Care Subsidy, Employment & Training, and other core benefits. https://mydss.mo.gov/

  • SNAP (Food Assistance – St. Louis)
    SNAP provides monthly benefits on an EBT card for eligible households to purchase food. Applications and interviews are handled through the Missouri Family Support Division. https://mydss.mo.gov/food-assistance



  • MO Dept of Social Services (Community Programs)
    Office of Workforce and Community Initiative offers services and resources that empower all Missourians to access employment, live safe, healthy and productive lives. https://mydss.mo.gov/community-programs

  • Housing Assistance – LIHEAP, Utility Help, Emergency Shelter
    Missouri LIHEAP provides energy bill assistance for low‑income households; local shelters and housing supports available through St. Patrick Center and city partners. https://mydss.mo.gov/energy-assistance

  • Mission: St. Louis – Community Resource Directory (Local Aid)
