    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible to mentor a group of teachers in one of the program’s areas, providing guidance, training and technical assistance, oversee and monitor child development activities and planning.  Receives content area supervision, training and technical assistance from content area managers/specialist/coordinators.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or other related degree with at least two years of experience working with young children and families and a current California Child Care Site Supervisor Permit in order to meet California Child Care Licensing Regulations. One year supervisory experience preferred. Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.

    Position is 20 hours per week, 48 weeks per year. Pay is $1265.00 bi-weekly.

    Administrative Assistant-Fiscal/HR

    JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant-Fiscal/HR

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position performs all duties as required to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and other duties relating to fiscal operations.  Position is responsible for monitoring program expenses, tracking activity in program budget lines and communicating any issues or overspending concerns.

    This position is responsible for the human resources activities of the program including personnel files, ensuring orientation and tracking of staff. This position is responsible for the smooth operations of an office and other duties related to administration including answering phones, filing, etc. Performs all duties as required by the Program Director and/or immediate supervisor and other duties as assigned relating to the administrative component including, policy and procedure updates, typing, word processing, faxing, acting as receptionist and other clerical duties.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED with two years direct experience working with purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  Must possess a basic understanding of accounting systems and have at least one year of direct experience working with an accounting system general ledger and budget. AA degree or higher in a related field preferred.  The individual must possess a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Bilingual helpful. (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area).

    Permit in order to meet California Child Care Licensing Regulations. One year supervisory experience preferred. Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.

    Position is 20 hours per week, 48 weeks per year. Pay is $14.00 hourly with HS/GED ;  $15.50 hourly with AA

    Family & Community Partnerships Services Coordinator

    Family & Community Partnerships Services Coordinator

    GENERAL SUMMARY: The Family and Community Partnerships area of the Head Start/Early Head Start program plays an integral part of the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start and plays an important part in supporting the goals of the program. This position is responsible for oversight and development of systems to provide opportunities and support for growth of Head Start/Early Head Start families, so they can identify their own strengths, needs and interests and find their own solutions.  Developing a parent and community volunteer program and being the lead on child abuse and neglect issues are also part of this position’s responsibilities.  Developing relationships with community partners, to whom families can be referred for services, is also a key function of this position. Responsible for development, training and on-going work with the program Policy Council. This position is responsible for ensuring Family and Community Partnership services are supported by staff and/or consultants with training and experience in field(s) related to social, human or family services. This position is responsible for the facilitation of Health Services of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.  The position is responsible for collaborating on the development and implementation of the program, tracking and recordkeeping, community relations and outreach.  The position could involve provision of direct services in the health areas only if the individual is licensed, certified or registered as such in the state of service. 

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    If this position is responsible for the management and oversight of family services, health and nutrition services, or services to children with disabilities, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably related to one or more of the disciplines they oversee. One year supervisory/management experience preferred.  Two years’ experience in case management preferred.

    Position is 40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year. Pay is $1265.00 Bi weekly.

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    This position serves as a teacher (aka caregiver) in a classroom of Early Head Start infants and toddlers by planning, implementing, and supervising all center-based activities. This position may work with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.  Because this position is one part of a large system of services provided to infants/toddlers and families, this position also serves as a social service referral person and shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum requirement is a current Child Development Associate (CDA) with infant/toddler endorsement and have been trained or have equivalent coursework* in age appropriate early childhood and child development with a focus on infant/toddler development.  An Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree in early childhood education, child development, family studies, home economics or child care that focuses on infant and toddler development and care or degree in any field with coursework** equivalent to   CDA credential subject areas and training specific to infant and toddler development is also acceptable.

    Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area). 

    Position is $907.50 bi-weekly CDA or equivalent credential; $907.50 bi-weekly One Year Cert; $960.00bi-weekly AA; $1040.00 bi-weekly BA or higher

    Teacher Two - Infant/Toddler

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position serves as a teacher-in-training (aka caregiver) in a classroom of Early Head Start infants and toddlers by planning, implementing, and supervising all center-based activities. This position may work with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.  Because this position is one part of a large system of services provided to infants/toddlers and families, it also serves as a social service referral and shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program. The position of Teacher Two works in tandem with a Teacher and the rest of the parts of the system as an integrated team to support the goals of the program. The position may be reassigned to various classrooms/centers as deemed necessary for program operations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    It is encouraged that the individual in the Teacher Two position will be in training to obtain the Infant/Toddler CDA credential within one year from the date of hire into the Teacher Two position.  At such time as the Teacher Two receives the Infant/Toddler CDA credential he/she will be promoted into the Teacher position.

    Position is $9.40 hourly HS/GED;  $10.10 hourly AA
